We are pleased to welcome two new board members to the Chamber Team to fill current vacancies – Rachel Whitton, Campbellford and District Curling and Racquet Club and Eric Charbonneau, True Saffron Producers Inc. It’s great to have a fresh new perspective when new volunteers join the board and we are eager to put Rachel and Eric to work.
At the March 7th Chamber Annual General Meeting we will be filling the final two director positions as we say goodbye to outgoing board members, Alan Appleby and Sharon Hopkinson. Alan was a key member of the Government Relations and Advocacy Committee, providing valuable policy research and feedback. Sharon was only with us a short time, but her commitment to the community shone through.
This is my favourite time of the year at the Chamber – the Celebration of Business Excellence – where we recognize the business community for their achievements. We make a special effort to recognize ALL of the nominees, presenting each one with a certificate prior to the ceremony.
This has a dual purpose – not only to show our appreciation for their efforts – but to also provide an additional opportunity to showcase businesses to the community. It’s terrific to see the community interact with the Facebook postings – what great ambassadors we have here in Trent Hills!
The awards ceremony, set for Saturday, April 27th, is an evening of inspiration hearing the success stories and learning about the many products and services available locally. Thank you to the many sponsors that have come on board this year, it’s going to be a spectacular evening of celebration! – Lori Schuett, Chair
