Job Posting: Tourism Information Officers & Trainee – Trent Hills Chamber of Commerce
The Trent Hills Chamber of Commerce is seeking two Tourism Information Officers and one Trainee to join our team. These roles involve assisting visitors at the Trent Hills Visitor Centre by providing information about local attractions, events, accommodations, and dining. Additional duties include managing overnight boating registrations and kayak rentals through an online system, maintaining cleanliness in public washrooms and boater showers, updating business databases, and restocking brochures. Positions can be customized to help develop specific skills relevant to career goals. Candidates with water safety and paddling experience will find it an asset in performing their duties.
Positions Available:
- Tourism Information Officer (2 Positions)
- Duration: 8 weeks, starting approximately June 24
- Hours: 35 per week
- Pay: $17.00 to $17.55 per hour
- Tourism Information Officer Trainee (1 Position)
- Duration: 6 weekends, from May 17 through June 23
- Hours: Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays
- Role: Supports the main officer role and learns the responsibilities
- Pay: $17.00 per hour
Key Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the Trent Hills area
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills
- Adherence to health and safety protocols
Eligibility Requirements:
- Age 15 to 30 years at the start of employment
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted refugee protection
- Legally entitled to work in Canada (recent immigrants who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents may apply; international students are not eligible)
