Let’s Get Vocal About Shopping Local

Each of the four Chambers of Commerce in Northumberland is proud of its business community and they say so every chance they get.

It’s ALL Right Here in Northumberland and now is your chance to show how proud you are of your business community, with a Let’s Get Vocal About Shopping Local campaign to start off the New Year.

Speak up about how great it is to have businesses close at hand to serve your needs for a chance to win one of four $500 gifts card to a Northumberland County business of your choosing. There are also twenty $100 gift cards up for grabs in Port Hope and District, Brighton-Cramahe, Northumberland Central and Trent Hills Chamber of Commerce jurisdictions.

To enter, all you have to do is say something positive about a local business on one of the four official Chamber of Commerce Let’s Get Vocal Facebook posts or submit a photo of the business or an item purchased in the corresponding Chamber jurisdiction. That’s it!
Contest begins: February 7 and continues until February 18.

Deadline to enter: February 21 at 11:59.

How it works: Each weekday during the contest period the chamber will post on its Facebook page a reason for supporting local businesses or a suggestion on how to support them. Respond in the manner outlined in the rules and your name will be entered in the draw. It can be a short testimonial or a thousand words (as in a picture, of course).

Here are the rules:

• Only one entry per post per individual.

• Each entry must include an image of a business, or a testimonial, or an item purchased in the participating Chamber jurisdiction.

• Deadline to enter is February 21 at 11:59.

• A random draw of eligible entries will take place on February 22 at 4 p.m. Each Chamber will draw one $500 prize for gift cards from a business of your choosing in Northumberland (any combination to a maximum of 5 businesses may be chosen), and five $100 prizes for a gift card from one business of your choosing in the corresponding Chamber jurisdiction. Facebook entries will be notified by Messenger, email entries will be notified by email, and must claim their prizes by Friday, February 25 at 4 p.m. The winners will be announced on Facebook on Monday, February 28.

• A purchase is not required to participate in the contest.

• All entrants must be 18 years of age or older.

• If you are not a Facebook user, you can email your testimonial/photo entry to admin@trenthillschamber.ca with the subject line: Let’s Get Vocal About Shopping Local Entry and the day you’re responding to.
• Employees of the four local Chambers of Commerce are not eligible for contest prizes.
